La Seu is a Gothic masterpiece measuring 121 metres in length and 44 metres in height. The main attractions to this Roman Catholic Cathedral include the “Puerta del Mar” which is a door on the port-side of the building created by Pedro de Moret and Juan de Valenciennes. Guillermo Sagrera was responsible for the two statues of Saint Peter and Saint Paul that adorn the portal and in the Royal Chapel at the rear of the building you can see a very impressive wrought iron chandelier by Antoni Gaudi. This Cathedral houses the tombs of Jaime II and Jaime III, the last of the Majorcan dynasty as well as those of Bishop Antonio Gallina, Clement VIII and Gil Sanchez Muñoz the Bishop of Palma who died in 1449 and who’s last wish was to have his bishops hat hanging above his tomb.
