La Seu is a magnificent Gothic cathedral in Mallorca which, as is the case with other existing Roman Catholic Cathedrals in , was built on the foundations of an Arab mosque. Building of this masterpiece started in 1229 when King James of founded it, but was not completed until 1601. The artwork is not restricted to the interior of the Cathedral as there are many sculptures and monuments of note surrounding the building too, including works by famous artists such as Antoni Gaudi, Pedro de Moret, Juan de Valenciennes and Guillermo Sagrera.
